The year is 2012 and like most Londoners I was caught up with the Olympic buzz sweeping the nation. I wanted to get involved in some level of sport or fitness regime but I wasn’t sure what would best suit my lifestyle. In previous years I spent my time on basketball courts, football pitches and even the odd salsa classes (don’t judge me).  These options were no longer practical, as I couldn’t find a group that was close to me and consistent enough to not lose interest.

The Power of Luke Cage

Luke_cage_coverYet again Marvel are dominating our screens. Not fully content with the big screen – with the likes of Avengers, Black Panther and co – Marvel has infiltrated our homes with fan-loving series (particularly on Netflix). Shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones have given us another dimension into the Marvel Universe, but it is the introduction of one Luke Cage (or Power Man to the initiated) that stands out for me.

IS THE WALKING DEAD?

It’s been nearly 8 years since we started our long, intense and at times heart-breaking journey with Andrew Lincoln’s character on The Walking Dead Rick Grimes. He lost everything, got it back, lost most of it again and now AMC are taking him away from our screens. Granted you could argue how much more can he take? In the season just gone, the internet went into meltdown at the decision to kill off the popular character Carl Grimes (Rick’s son) played by Chandler Riggs.
